Well, I guess it was a brunch kinda weekend! I met my mama for breakfast at a café near her house that serves really delicious little meals that incorporate a lot of fresh and local products. Fresh, as in I’ve seen a local farmer walk in to deliver stacks of his eggs for the weekend rush. I feel so fortunate to live in this little area, and even though my husband and I talk about leaving California eventually (at the end of the day, it’s pretty price to live here), but the food access always keeps me rooted to Sonoma county.

Brunch: Ham, mushroom and spinach omelette with oregano potatoes, no toast. I also splurged on an extra cup of coffee, and just looked longingly at mama’s beautiful latté art.
Post-gym snack: A bowlful of Banola with coconut milk. I can’t lie, this much fat post-workout is not at all ideal. But the Banola was giving me that look, and I could not resist (plus, fridge was getting empty, and this kept me within the guidelines of my 21DSD).
Dinner: Husband smoked a locally ranched brisket on our Big Green Egg, and I made a creamy cabbage slaw (I used the recipe from my much loved copy of The Zenbelly Cookbook, minus the honey) and the roasted garlic parsnips from The 21-Day Sugar Detox guidebook. I confess, I have never really cooked parsnips until I found this recipe, and now I seem to make them all the time. Maybe it’s the garlic 🙂
Daily steps: ~9350, so a little shy. I did go to the gym, but I focused on a leg work out instead of cardio. I feel okay about this!
