Ugh. Today went all kinds of wonky at work due to a Microsoft update to Windows 10 that knocked me out of any internet connection. As with most modern offices, I rely heavily on internet access for so much of what I do, so fixing (ha!) this was a priority, and the rest of my planned tasks went unfinished. By end of day, I had no internet connectivity, a big pile of important paperwork untouched, and a frustrated, defeated feeling. I knew I had to walk away and come back fresh another day. Fingers crossed on this one.
So, no food pictures today. Thank goodness I started the slow-cooker before I left in the morning, at least the house smelled fantastic when I got home, and dinner was easy to put together. I really wanted to eat something sugary (donuts, ice cream, cookie dough) but fortunately, none of that was in the house, so a spoonful of almond butter (okay, 2 spoonfuls)
Breakfast: Chicken thighs and sautéed red cabbage with avocado salsa
Lunch: Applegate dogs again, the fridge is pretty bare by Friday afternoon
Dinner: Slow-cooked spare ribs with a homemade barbecue sauce (impossible to find a store-bought version without sugar) and garlic spinach. I also stole a couple pieces of the baked potato wedges I made for the husband.
Treat: Two spoonfuls of almond butter. I could eat the jar like ice cream, so this shows a fair amount of restraint 🙂
Daily Steps: Yeah, sitting at a desk giving my computer grumpy face all day didn’t do much for my mood, or my steps. I ducked into the gym after work for 20 minutes just to walk a little, but only made 7400 steps by bedtime. Still going to up my step goal to 10,000, starting tomorrow, hopefully I get some easy walking in, even with the storms we are expecting.
